Customer Reviews: Interesting perspective - a good read February 14, 2010 S. Brelsford (Kambah, ACT Australia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the Kindle version of this book on 8 Feb 2010 and unlike the other reviewer, I got the right book.
I'm not particularly knowledgeable in the world of finance, certainly not at this level, so I can't comment on the technical accuracy of the book. But, I found it to be written in a style I could easily read and understand - terms that have been thrown around since the whole 'GFC' thing started all of a sudden make some sense to me.
The author appears to come clean on his own mistakes, but makes it clear where he thinks the failure at Lehman happened.
I think my only doubts about this book come from the fact that almost every event is discussed as though the author was present, even when he can't have been. It leaves a bit of a question mark about just how accurate some of the fine detail might be.
But, regardless of that, it's a good read and from an interesting perspective.
Recent history of financial debacle August 20, 2010 RCD Interesting read of the peronalities involved with the Lehman dimise and arrogance of managment. How the making of money puts blinders on the well being of the whole,
don't order - wrong product will be delivered February 7, 2010 Heckenhocker (Bedfordshire, UK) Don't order this for your Kindle - you will not get the right book. The title of the downloaded file is correct (Colossal Failure of Common Sense) but the content is "On Leadership" by Allan Leighton
